Awat (ä-vät’)is a Norwegian originally from Kurdistan. Her father was a political activist and they sought political asylum in Norway, where her family has been living since. Outspoken, idealistic, and assertive, she is matriarch of her family, and the de facto matriarch of our little group. She holds a diploma in Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility from Macquarie University in Australia, is fluent in English, Norwegian, and Spanish, and has worked in the cultural sector for most of her life. She loves flamenco and dreams of doing a cultural project a yet-to-be-disclosed location in the Mediterranean.
